Kaitlyn Redmon, Administrator
Kaitlynn was born and raised in La Porte county and started working at Brentwood in La Porte long before her job as the Executive Director. She volunteered in the activities department. While being an employee at Brentwood at La Porte, Kaitlynn realized her passion for the senior population and decided to pursue a career as an administrator. Kaitlynn attended Indiana University South Bend where she received her Bachelors of Arts focusing on sociology and business administration. As the Executive Director of Brentwood at La Porte, Kaitlynn oversees the day-to-day operations of the Community. She is also responsible for ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, licensing regulations, and customer satisfaction. Kaitlynn believes that Ridgeline’s mission statement “creating environments where moments of joy, independence, and wellness are the focus each and every day” is truly her vision for the Brentwood at La Porte community and vows to make sure that the mission statement is holding true.
In her free time, Kaitlynn likes to go jogging, spend time outdoors, and shop. She also likes to spend time with her fiancé and family, especially her twin sister.
Tricia Poort, Sales and Marketing Director
Tricia has worked in the Healthcare Field in sales and marketing for over 15 years. Prior to coming to Brentwood, Tricia worked in Hospice, Home Health Care and Long Term Care. Tricia also is very involved in several volunteer programs in our community. She was the President of our local TRIAD organization for 12 years, she serves as the Advisory Board President for Catholic Charities of La Porte and Starke Counties, serves as a Board Member for the Catholic Charities Arch Diocese of Gary and volunteers through Kiwanis at Hailmann Elementary B.U.G. (Bringing Up Grades) program.
In her spare time, Tricia enjoys cooking, Genealogy, wine tasting, and spending time with her family and friends. Tricia has 2 grown boys, Brandon and Dylan, 2 dogs, Chevy and Axel. Tricia has been with Brentwood since September 2015.
Mick Hunsley, Maintenance Director
Mick Hunsley is the Maintenance Director at Brentwood Assisted Living in La Porte. He has been with Brentwood since November 2008 and has over 28 years of experience in Long Term Healthcare Facilities and Life Safety Programs. After working at Fountainview Terrace for almost 20 years, he decided to look into another job field and took a position at Mid-City Supply in Michigan City specializing in HVAC, customer service, and counter sales. After the housing slump, he decided to go back to his roots in healthcare and took a position at Whispering Pines Healthcare in Valparaiso for one year. The position came open at Brentwood and accepted his current position.
Mick is married and lives in La Porte with his wife Lisa. They have 5 children between them and 7 grandchildren. He has been a volunteer firefighter/EMT for almost 35 years and is very dedicated to helping his community and others. Mick likes to travel and be outdoors, walking the beach and visiting local casinos. Mick is also very dedicated to helping seniors and often volunteers to help take residents to outdoor activities in the summer.
Debbie Reynolds, Business Office Manager
Debbie has worked for Brentwood at La Porte for five years as the Business Office Manager. Over the years, she started out as a receptionist and worked her way up to the accounting department. Before working at Brentwood, she worked for Thermco Instrument Corporation for in La Porte for ten years. In 2013, Debbie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Debbie also has two sons.
Dee Welnetz, Activities Director
Dee has worked in the health care field for 14 years. She started out as a C.N.A she then went on to get her E.M.T, worked as an Activities Assistant, and then becoming an Activities Director. She also was a first responder and fire fighter with her township volunteer fire department. She is married and has 3 children and 2 step-children. Dee loves working with our residents. On her off time she enjoys camping, floating down the Tippecanoe River, fishing, traveling to Canada, doing homemade crafts, and spending time with her family and friends.
Debbie Meegan, Dietary Manager
Debbie has worked at Brentwood at La Porte for 16 years. Debbie started out working at Fountainview as a Dietary Aide when she was fifteen years old. She did that for nine years before she started working at Countryside as a cook. She was then promoted to Dietary Manager and worked there for 11 years. Debbie has received her Dietary Manager Certification. She has been happily married for thirty-five years and has two sons. Debbie also has two grandkids and a granddog.
Janie Rangel, Memory Care Activities Director
Janie Rangel has lived in La Porte all of her life and graduated from La Porte High School in 1986. She has been married for 28 years to her husband Fabian. They have four daughters and four grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family, riding bikes, going to the beach, gardening, going to church, and listening to music. Janie has been a CNA for twelve years and has been at Brentwood for three years. Janie is excited to be the Activity Director in the memory care unit and to work more with residents and staff. Her passion in life has always been helping others.
Stacy Leszek, Resident Care Director
Stacy has worked in the healthcare field since she was 16 years old. She started working at Our Lady Holy Cross when she was 16 as a CNA. She then received her Nursing Degree from Ivy Tech College in 2002 and continued working at Our Lady as a nurse for 6 years until the facility closed in 2008. Stacy then went to Golden Living Center as a Nurse Manager from 2008-2015. Stacy came to Brentwood as the Resident Care Director November 9th 2015. Stacy has 1 son and enjoys spending time with him, also with her many friends and family.
Rhonda Lazo, Concierge
Rhonda Lazo has been the concierge at Brentwood at La Porte for almost 7 years. She loves her job and could not imagine not coming to work and seeing all the smiling faces of our residents and getting to know the families. She has been married for 31 years and has 2 beautiful daughters who both work in the health care field. Her oldest daughter, 27, is engaged to married and her youngest daughter, 23, has been married for 1 year. Rhonda has 2 dogs, Biscuit who is 14, and their new puppy, adopted from the animal rescue, Ginger who is 6 months old. Rhonda loves to shop, interior design, cook, and spend time with her family.
Susan Elston, Concierge
Susan has worked at Brentwood for over 6 years. She started her career here as a CNA. She then took the position as Concierge. She also assists with the Business Office. Susan has 4 children; James who is going to school for Electrical Engineering, Glenn, who is in the US Marine Corps and studied aircraft maintenance, Alex, who is in the US Air Force studying Aircraft Structural Maintenance, and April who is currently in high school with aspirations of being a Veterinarian! Susan enjoys reading and crocheting and has a cat to keep her busy!
Karla Wilczewski, Memory Care Coordinator
Karla started her healthcare career in 2010, after a twenty year teaching career. Her first health care job was in the memory care unit at Brentwood as a CNA. She received her nursing degree from Ivy Tech in Valparaiso. She worked at a skilled nursing facility before returning to work as a nurse at Brentwood. Karla started as memory care director on March 1, 2016. Karla and her husband Wayne have eight children between them and two grandchildren. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her pets and restoring furniture.
